Searching for Colleges
|
Finding the right college may be one of the most important steps high school students make in determining their future. But, where should you start? Key questions you need to ask yourself include: What subjects do I want to study? Do I want to live on campus or at home? Can my family afford to send me to a private school? How much financial aid is available? Should I consider starting at a two-year college? What about the career opportunities available upon completing a nursing or associate degree? Or, what about starting my career in the military?
You may have already discussed several possibilities with your guidance counselor, family members and friends. Perhaps you have created a list of "safety schools," "reach schools" and some in between. This web site introduces you to more than 3,000 colleges and schools throughout the United States offering courses in over 400 areas of study. You may use several search criteria to narrow you choices such as majors, geographic location, tuition and student enrollment.
